Line Drawing The line drawing is accomplished with Verithin colored pencils.

Leaves
The leaves are developed in three different steps:
- Color Mapping (right side) - done with Neocolors on the cool zone.
- Blending (center) - accomplished on the warm zone with a small art sponge.
- Details (left side) - added with colored pencils on the cool zone.

Petals
- Wax Foundation - done with a yellow crayon on the warm zone.
- Thinning - on the warm zone with a gray paper stump, leaving a thin layer of yellow pigment which will accept more layering.
- Layering - green, orange and red colored pencils are layered on the cool zone to create the flower folds.
- Blending - the layers are blended on the warm zone with a colorless blender (or a gray paper stump).

Finishing Details
- The water texture is created on the cool zone with white Neocolor and then selectively blended with a finger on the warm zone.
- Highlights are re-emphasized on the cool zone with white Neocolor.
- Edges are cleaned up and softened on the warm zone with a paper stump.
