Ester won the Expi Best of Show and Prismacolor Award in Explore This! 6, the Colored Pencil Society of America's online exhibition, with the artwork "Above and Below". This prestigious exhibition will run until January 31, 2011. "Above and Below" was made with colored pencil and oil pastel on the Icarus Drawing Board.

Ester had a very successful mini-workshop at the meeting of the San Diego Chapter of the Colored Pencil Society. The event took place at the Serra-Kearny Library and the participants had a great time following along the step-by-step video clips on the fourteen Icarus Drawing Board available.

July 30-August 1, 2009
Ester participated at the 17th Annual Convention of the Colored Pencil Society of America in Atlanta, GA. She had the opportunity to demonstrate the Icarus Drawing Board to the numerous attendees. One Icarus Drawing Board was donated for the raffle and the winner was Elizabeth Little from Florida.

The Botanical Artists Guild of Southern California was this year's host for the 14th Annual Meeting and Conference for the American Society of Botanical Artists. As part of the conference, there was an Exhibitors' Hall at the Pasadena Hilton on Thursday, October 30th, from 9AM to 4PM. Icarus Art participated as an exhibitor and Ester Roi demonstrated her new Icarus technique answering questions from the numerous attendees.
